The Opportunity: Paradigm Select Assets has positioned itself for a unique opportunity in the debt buying arena. Two recent factors have combined to dramatically bring down prices of debt portfolios, while at the same time making larger quantities of high quality debt available on the market.
Banks are charging off business and consumer loans earlier than a year ago, and this has resulted in higher availability of fresh debt paper. Also, the tightening of credit terms has forced several larger debt buyers onto the sidelines, bringing down prices of charged off debt to the lowest levels seen in the last 10 years. The reduction of prices by more than 50% from a year ago has created a unique buying opportunity in the market.

PSA has access to national debt exchanges and banks, and strategic relationships with large debt buyers, to purchase high quality charged off business and consumer debt portfolios at deeply discounted price. PSA then processes suits through national high volume litigation firms, and within 9 to 12 months, turns these debts into enforceable judgments. The debt is then liquidated on the secondary market for a total value several times that of the underlying debt portfolio.debt

By occupying a value niche in the distressed debt market, Paradigm Select can selectively acquire debt at the best prices, and optimize the liquidation of the portfolios to achieve the maximum returns with limited risk.

Toni has a Ph.D. in Physics, MBA in Finance from UCLA. Toni has prior experience with hedge fund operations, and expertise in strategies of building and balancing market neutral investments, and in risk identification and mitigation. Previously, Toni has started 3 companies in the tech and services industries, and has sold one company. She has extensive experience in strategy consulting and was part of a venture fund in Northern California. Toni is involved with the Debt Buyers Association International, Inc., an industry organization focused on providing liquidity to the debt market.

Sunny Kalara, PhD, Esq., General Counsel, Paradigm Select Assets
Sunny has been in multi-state business law practice for more than eleven years. He is a Certified Licensing Professional and has significant experience in collection law. Prior to starting his own practice, he was a senior counsel with O’Melveny & Myers, LLP in their Los Angeles office. He served as a general counsel to Invisible Studios, LLC, a venture fund with investments in financial and technology companies. Sunny is a member of National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys, and actively works with California Creditor’s Bar Association.
